at the big republican powwow.
Wow!
OK, so let's say, just for fun, that being a non-cookie baking First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State is not accomplishing anything earthshaking.
But, Hillary has done all of this working with hotheads in Washington and around the world without getting into, or causing, serious trouble. She has done every job with grace and intelligence and shown responsibility. She has also managed to work with all areas of the spectrum while making many friends and few enemies. Seems like this is a big part of the job in a fractious government such as we have.
Carly, on the other hand, did not have the ability to keep her job by making friends and allies at H-P. She managed piss off more people than she befriended and whatever good she may or may not have done at H-P was lost in her ineptitude at corporate politics.
If you can't work the crowd when you are the boss, how can you expect to work with a Congress that goes in not trusting you?

(25,183 posts)she also ran Lucent into the ground, and then there was her work for the McCain campaign.
When you point the finger, there are three fingers pointing back at you. Even the Repukes know she's a hopeless loser.

(23,664 posts)Carly Fiorina is a loser, a nasty piece of work who took a reputable corporation and ran it into a ditch. I wouldn't trust her to scrape dog shit off my boots.
However, even assholes like Fiorina are not wrong 100% of the time and I've yet to see a factual accounting of the tangible achievements of Clinton. "Making many friends and few enemies". and working "with all areas of the spectrum" are not accomplishments.

(9,326 posts)Every time I wake up my computer from screen saver the printer had to do something for about 30 seconds before I could do anything. Then every few weeks the software gets messed up and I have to screw around with that for two hours. Then it can only print about twelve pages before running out of ink. Now that I'm out of grad school and don't have to print papers etc screw it. Sit it over in the corner and let it gather dust.

(39,961 posts)didn't send a healthy corporation spiraling near bankruptcy, either.
I'm no fan of Hillary, but Carly Fiorina is hardly a person to gauge success as a corporate leader, unless you call torpedoing the worth of the company "leadership", bad decisions involving employee hiring practices and general management.
Hey, now that I think about it, she'd fit right in with John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz and the parade of losers that are itching to send our country into a financial ditch to benefit their vulture capitalist corporate sponsors.
She's like Bill Kristol, whom I would never take political advice from, and Jim Cramer, whom I would never take financial advice from rolled into one shark of a personality that is more than willing to sink the boat with everyone on it so that she can get the pieces of eight as her helicopter picks her up.

(16,926 posts)While I was contracting at HP during Fiorina's reign, the stock had tanked and taken a hit on the full-timers. I witnessed one long time engineer turn red with anger and just about break his knuckles on a steel test chamber while taking her name in vain.
The day she left, I heard a group of admins singing "Ding-dong, the witch is gone".

(43,049 posts)I remember when I got some used HP test equipment, oscilloscope, wave analyzer, etc, and the stuff was not only built like tanks, but incredibly accurate. Long before HP became the source of cheap printers, it was one of the world's premier engineering companies.
I had a couple of their programmable calculators, too, and really, really miss RPN.
Fiorina wasn't the first, or only, manager who thought quality was a silly waste of money, but she was probably the worst of them.
