Eva Kor reveals how she and her twin sister were both injected with unknown substances as she gives testimony at trial of guard charged with complicity in Holocaust.
Eva Kor still bears the blue Auschwitz prisoner number A-7063 on her forearm. But as she sat opposite an impassive 93-year-old former guard at the death camp who is charged with complicity in the murder of 300,000 Jews, she recalled how as a child prisoner she endured the hideous medical experiments of the infamous Auschwitz doctor Josef Mengele.
The trial of Oskar Gröning continued in Lüneburg with testimony from the 81-year-old Ms Kor. She told the former SS guard: Tell todays young neo-Nazis that Auschwitz existed and Nazi ideology produces no winners only losers.
In harrowing detail, the petite Ms Kor told a court how she and her twin sister Miriam escaped being gassed at the death camp because of Mengeles obsession with experimenting on twins. She recalled how she arrived at Auschwitz with her family after a 70-hour journey from Romania in a rail cattle wagon without food or water. All I really remember is seeing my mothers arms stretched out in despair as she was pulled away. I never got to say goodbye to her, she told a hushed courtroom. Everywhere there was shouting in German, dogs were barking.
It was the gates of hell.

(114,904 posts)A violation? Not how I'd characterize Mengele's heinous crimes. Do you have a clue as to what he did?

(102,420 posts)required vaccines--particularly in light of Australia's recent removal of all but medical exemptions... If that is the case, I denounce that ugly conflation with every molecule of my being. I hope I am wrong about the intent of that comment in this thread, but I suspect someone will try to conflate the issues, regardless.

(55,745 posts)In Cold War, U.S. Spy Agencies Used 1,000 Nazis
By ERIC LICHTBLAU
The New York Times, OCT. 26, 2014
WASHINGTON In the decades after World War II, the C.I.A. and other United States agencies employed at least a thousand Nazis as Cold War spies and informants and, as recently as the 1990s, concealed the governments ties to some still living in America, newly disclosed records and interviews show.
At the height of the Cold War in the 1950s, law enforcement and intelligence leaders like J. Edgar Hoover at the F.B.I. and Allen Dulles at the C.I.A. aggressively recruited onetime Nazis of all ranks as secret, anti-Soviet assets, declassified records show. They believed the ex-Nazis intelligence value against the Russians outweighed what one official called moral lapses in their service to the Third Reich.
The agency hired one former SS officer as a spy in the 1950s, for instance, even after concluding he was probably guilty of minor war crimes.
And in 1994, a lawyer with the C.I.A. pressured prosecutors to drop an investigation into an ex-spy outside Boston implicated in the Nazis massacre of tens of thousands of Jews in Lithuania, according to a government official.
Evidence of the governments links to Nazi spies began emerging publicly in the 1970s. But thousands of records from declassified files, Freedom of Information Act requests and other sources, together with interviews with scores of current and former government officials, show that the governments recruitment of Nazis ran far deeper than previously known and that officials sought to conceal those ties for at least a half-century after the war.
In 1980, F.B.I. officials refused to tell even the Justice Departments own Nazi hunters what they knew about 16 suspected Nazis living in the United States.

PS: Thank you, Surya Gayatri. The NAZI era will not end until they all are exposed and prosecuted and their ideology discredited. So far, only Democracy has proven effective.

(55,745 posts)The reason I post it is so, perhaps, we can capture their ideological heirs, still ensconced in US intelligence community, including FBI and CIA.
