Bruce Jenner and other transgender people: What pronoun?

Having been talking about Bruce and seeing many articles about this, I wonder what I should call someone who has done this. Most articles refer to him at the same time they say he is transitioning to a woman. Where does it happen when he goes all the way, will he become a she to the journals then?

As for me I've found myself unsure of how to refer to Bruce Jenner and other transgender people. Not that it has come up much in my life so far, but now with this topic wagging tongues everywhere, I find myself wanting to get it right.

Casual Convo when referring to transgenders in general. Today a whole group of us were perplexed (with the republicans preferring "it" over other pronouns) and we weren't sure.

If it isn't obvious to you, then asking is better than insulting.

People are actually saying "it"? What the holy fuck kind of sick bastards are in this world?

Btw, it's transgender people.

when talking to others of someone you aren not sure of they can easily use "they" or the person's name.

First, I'd admit my ignorance and assure whomever I was talking to that I meant no disrespect when asking how they'd prefer to be spoken to/about.

Fuck republicans and "it". That's simply intended to be insulting, like something I used to call my little Sister.

Otherwise, I'd live by the old adage "Better to keep your mouth shut and be THOUGHT a fool, than speak and PROVE it."

Until it is easier to use the correct pronoun in this instance, I can't very well correct them.

And that the proper pronoun is the one requested by the person to whom they are referring. I believe Bruce said that she refers to herself as "her," but that using male pronouns during the interview was fine.

Normally, people in the position that Bruce Jenner is in, would prefer she/her. But he is on his own journey, as we all are. He stated he wanted to be referred to as he/him until he emerges as a woman. At that time, she will tell us her name. That the interview was the last time anyone will see Bruce Jenner.
