General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWould it be fair to compare Hillary's
candidacy to the prior choice of Sarah Palin for VP by John McCain?
(No, I'm not serious; I'm just posting this as sarcasm, mimicking another OP, to illustrate a devious, transparent attempt to use a negative association propaganda device, ie comparing a present candidate to a former candidate who did not win).

Bernie supporters are lucky; we can be completely transparent, and don't need to resort to underhanded tactics in promoting Bernie's candidacy, because everything about his candidacy is 100% positive.
We are completely free to let the facts speak for themselves. These facts should be enough to convince anyone that he is a stellar Democratic candidate.
Best of luck to Secretary Clinton. She's a great candidate also, a candidate who really doesn't need a negative propaganda campaign to promote her candidacy.

I also have links to sites with poll after poll showing the same thing too!
they are all in cahoots though right? Hillary bought them all off right?

The betting sites....those are the ones predicting the future! That is what odds setting is....you know that right?

B.Hillary has been running for nearly 8 years.
C.Bernie has been running -1 days
Give it 90 days and THEN let's look at polls...
VanillaRhapsody
(21,115 posts)its called her record....
Bernie has been in the public eye for quite some time as well.....
currently Bernie has 0 odds....Hillary...77%
Even for Bernie...that is a snowballs chance in hell...

(27,670 posts)resort to negative campaigning before your candidate has even announced.
Desperate defensiveness against what they believe to be a significant threat to their candidate's possibilities of winning is clear. If they believed that it was true that Bernie had no chance of winning, they wouldn't be getting so freaked out over his almost candidacy.

freaked out? a simple question is a freak out?
what is this that some are trying to fabricate here? why?

(110,159 posts)clinton has had an amazing amount of trash dumped on her. much of it inaccurate and just plain stupid.
for sander supporter to portray he is being unfairly picked on is a fail.
but, like in all democratic primaries, there will be people questioning both, legitimately. there is no reason to expect that both candidates wont be challenged on their elect-ability, beliefs or any number of legitimate issues.
people are not gonna treat sanders with kids glove, nor does sanders need us to.
and you are right. sanders has a good record.
clinton does not have nearly the right record that a LOT on du like to project.

(110,159 posts)think it is accurate, hence my comment in that thread. but there is absolutely no reason someone cannot discuss about those too candidates social perception.
the first thing my 17 yr old said was.... he is a socialist. no way he would win.
we have discussed it since and he appears to be learning about sanders, looking for a candidate to get behind.
if i had gotten on the kids ass for daring to say something negative about sanders, instead of an informed discussion, he might not be open to sanders now, and excited about the race.
NOTHING comparable to a republican, teabagging, inarticulate and unaccomplished palin.
one was an appropriate question
one was just an ugly attack

(16,184 posts)You seem to be confusing "underhanded tactics" with completely legitimate questions about his viability as a general election candidate.
If Sanders supporters can't handle a few frank questions anyone would ask of any candidate without throwing a massive tantrum like we've seen tonight, then maybe the problem isn't with the other candidates' supporters.

(17,417 posts)Looks like the same cast of characters on DU, and like Kucinich his support is virtually nonexistent in the real world.
It's fine to support a hopeless candidate to make a statement, but I don't understand how anyone can sincerely believe that Sanders chances are any better than Kucinich.
KMOD
(7,906 posts)comparing Bernie and Kucinich, both of whom are wonderful progressive liberals,
is a whole lot different to comparing HRC to Palin.
Night and day different.
The HRC to Palin connect would make sense if you were disputing a Bernie/Rand Paul comparison.
But that crap, thankfully, isn't happening.
I love Bernie Sanders, but at the moment I'm am supporting Hillary Clinton.
