Very interesting. He's had two posts today (can't access FB from this web connection) showing the two sides of the fall of Saigon.

His wife was there - she was a little girl at the time. Check it out if you get the chance.

For sharing that - you must have interesting stories from that day - that experience in general.

My dad was a Green Beret at that time (Captain). What he shared with me (I was only 2 at the time) was very heart breaking. He had lived and trained the Montagnards at one point - and he had the sick feeling that people were going to be punished.

process of adopting children from there and were afraid they would not be able to continue the process. I then made calls to the INS to ask them to expedite the process of getting those babies out of Vietnam and into our country. INS finally agreed - because other congress persons were calling them to - but they wanted us to know that if things went wrong it would not be their fault.

Somewhere here on DU there is a pic in the archives that shows the babies all loaded onto a transport plane to come here. Some of the MASH nurses were the attendants on that plane.

So glad we could be there when they needed us.

What an enormous fucking waste of lives and money. Thank you conservatives! What fucking difference would it have made if we WON the war?
