Bernie is 73.
Brown is 77.
One looks older and one looks younger than their age belies.
One is more liberal than the other, even though Brown has always been considered far more liberal than he really is...
Jerry Brown has done so well in CA that another Republican may never get elected to statewide office again. Yeah, some things I'm not so hot on (the tunnels) but he has really turned the state around after the Gropenator's looting of the treasury. And now he is really getting out there on climate change.
Now if only he can somehow create some cannabis legislation that is comprehensive and does not give the industry away to big ag,tobacco etc..... then we will have the perfect candidate.

It just goes to show what can happen if we elect Dems on down the ballot.

(15,189 posts)He doesn't think it should be legal. Thinks we'll all go around stoned in Ca.

(3,569 posts)and I think is getting the hint that it will become legal no mater what and he will have to deal with it. or someone will and better him than someone else.... One of my shortcomings with him.

(14,524 posts)Thanks for clearing that up. I wouldn't have a problem with him getting in the race. He's a good governor for sure.

(32,342 posts)There are groups in CA that keep him that way, but it takes effort.
Anyone we elect is going to have to deal with the shit congress we have now, unless people get industrious about flipping some seats downticket.

(3,569 posts)In a bid to reinvigorate his beleaguered, $25 billion twin-tunnels project, Gov. Jerry Brown is expected to release a revised water diversion plan Thursday, likely with reduced habitat restoration.
The revised plan calls for restoring less than one-third of the 100,000 acres of wetland and wildlife habitat originally planned, California Department of Fish and Wildlife Director Chuck Bonham told the Associated Press on Wednesday.

(2,335 posts)If he was liberal he would be calling for radical change to big Ag, water law, cannabis law here in CA ....He gets the need for big infrastructure improvements but any centrist would. Sanders is better for the country right now
