Insanity: GOP Gov. Calls In State Guard In Case Obama Plans To Invade Texas

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/04/29/texas-gov-state-guard-us-military-training-basrop/

“We’re not going to interfere with their rights or their privacy,” the U.S. Army’s Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria tried to reassure Bastrop County, Texas residents at a jam-packed meeting. But most neighbors present wanted nothing to do with Operation Jade Helm 15, a two month military training exercise.

Despite Lastoria’s promises to conduct the training exercises “safely and courteously,” KXAN news footage shows one resident getting loud applause when he declared:...

Apparently, some folks in Basrop County think Jade Helm’s some sort of smoke screen for Barack Obama to invade Texas and take their guns, including Daniel DuCloux:...

Gov. Greg Abbot (sic) must have heard quite an earful, because radio station KUT.Org reports Abbot’s sending in the state guard to keep a beady eye on this training exercise. Or, as Abbot explains in officialese “monitor” it:

A dear friend has a theory that any impact hard enough to cause a spinal cord injury is also hard enough to cause a traumatic brain injury. Gov. Abbott would appear to be Exhibit A.

If President Obama wanted to take Texans' guns away, he already has more than enough boots on the ground there to do it.

Juanita Jean had some fun with this story http://juanitajean.com/ding-ding-ding-we-have-a-winner/

Several of you in the comments section posted Governor Greg Abbott’s letter assuring Texans that he had everything under control.

“It is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed,” Abbott wrote. “By monitoring the Operation on a continual basis, the State Guard will facilitate communications between my office and the commanders of the Operation to ensure that adequate measures are in place to protect Texans.”

Do you know what the Texas Guard is? It’s not the Texas National Guard. It’s just the Texas Guard. It’s like the Boy Scouts except with no adult supervision.

Remember the old sheriff we had here who often tied his shoelaces together? He was the head of the Texas Guard here and his mistress was the Lt. Col. I am not making that up. Just ask anybody.

The Texas Guard is for people too old or too chicken to join the real military. They are for civil help only, like cleaning up after a hurricane. Here’s what they get paid. They do not get to carry guns, even if they have one.

I was on a jury yesterday to hide a guy who had tried to post a powerpoint about Jade Helm 3 times in reference to the militarization of the police in Baltimore. He got a hide all 3 times because he was getting that powerpoint from a white supremacist political party web site. I agreed with the hide, but I was a little mushy about it because the powerpoint itself did seem to be a leaked document from the military, and I thought it was relevant to discussion of militarization of the police.

I'm glad I did agree with the hide now because the fact people think that these military exercises were the beachhead to an invasion (Charlestoooooooooooon!!!!) is bonkers. On the other hand, when cities actually call out the National Guard, and start suppressing civil rights - that actually IS an invasion of the State. Funny how that notion doesn't apply why when we are "keeping law and order" on behalf of The Man's interests.
