Finally, CNN International went live with coverage of the Senate debate of the PATRIOT Act. Its American version though is showing Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown instead. Never mind that CNN US could have right now shown its International feed and informed its audience about the PATRIOT Act.
Why? Does CNN seriously believe Anthony Bourdain gets better ratings than news coverage about the PATRIOT Act, after Edward Snowden's media blitz a couple years back? Or are they afraid that American viewers will start demanding the international CNN instead of the dumbed-down American CNN?
CNN International, however, is also slightly guilty of missing the news: I saw a RERUN of the Erin Burnett show, at the same time C-SPAN was taking viewers' calls about the PATRIOT Act.
Compare what's streaming on CNN International vs. CNN USA at this moment.
And MSNBC, shame on you too for staying "in prison" today.

You thought CNN was about informing the public on important issues facing the American electorate?
