On CSPAN, they are scheduled to talk about Congress's efforts to limit the pension and

benefits of ex presidents. There is no discussion of limiting the pension and benefits of members and ex members of Congress. Is it ironic that it wold fall in line the future pension of Barack Obama? No, it is intentional!

90% contribute by member, 10% match from gov.

This is still much more generous than what private sector see today, but sets a good example and lets them see the reality of the common person.

Oh BTW, only standard medical benefits te rest of us get, eg Medicare.

There's a proposal from Ernst (who is sooooo concerned that her white followers will be paying fractions of a dollar per capita to Barack Obama in retirement) that would save a grand total of $2.7 million per year for the spending that currently goes to four ex-Presidents.

And C-Span plays along. Hopefully someone calls in and asks what those lifetime congressional benefits are costing in comparison.

That adds up to a little over $2.6 billion annually. I used the numbers mentioned here:

http://www.factcheck.org/2015/01/congressional-pensions-update/

I don't begrudge them their benefits, but $2.6 billion v. a saving of $2.7 million if we "crack down" on ex-presidential "largesse" shows what a waste of time this is. Cspan should be embarrassed.
