A little worried about the political direction of our Young voters

It seemed they were more fired up with Obama's candidacy.

Looking at Bernie crowd pictures...the aggregate seemed older. Not sure yet about Hillary's crowd. But the worrisome issue is that they are not informed, they dont' do the research and are buying the parsed messages of Rand. Less government, small government....not really thinking through everything this means. They appear to be fired up about Libertarianism imho.

1. It might be an apples to oranges thing. Obama was running against Bush as much as against McCain

Many things are not quite as desperate as they were then.

not realizing he's been limited by a series of Clown Congresses. However, the TPP has put the final nail in the coffin to many of them.

Having been this disappointed, they're loath to trust anyone else, even Sanders. Fair enough, no politician ever does what he's promised on the campaign trail, most of them are stymied by the other branches of government and by the fact that they can't rule by executive fiat.

As they grow up a little more, they'll realize that the best they can do is vote in the primary for the one who says the most correct things and in the general for the party that tends to screw them the least.

My daughter just told us "I'll come out to vote for him if he's still there" by election day.

They give Paul a lot of slaps on the back for those rare times he's right on something, but Sanders rarely ever says anything with which they disagree.

Us Millennials have way too much debt and unemployment for libertarian economics to take root.

Don't count us out.

I thought at least a third of the people that showed up looked to be under 30, but we were pretty close to the UofM.

kids here...a lot of kids here are used to following the traditions of their parents (religion and politics). The few that dare stray, I believe is in part because the vocal Tea Baggers have finally gone to the extreme. Those few that dare stray from the traditions of their parents darne't stray too far and are buying into the meme that both Libs and Reps promote "Less Government".
