At least the passengers got off before the ship headed out into a Cat5 hurricane.

either don't have serious storm warnings or carry on as if nothing was about to happen.
I'll never get it.
Today is just day one of the 2-15 hurricane series and I've seen or heard programmes on radio and TV - and not just in Jamaica.
We take these storms very seriously.

(17,064 posts)5. In SE Asia there is probably not the weather forecasting.
And I suspect there's little govt regulation of cruise ships there, and owners probably pressure the ill-trained and low-paid crews to sail on schedule no matter.
