I haven't been on this site in awhile, I have been too preoccupied with other things, but I felt yall would like to know.
If you are not familiar with our cause, we in November had a referendum on the ballot to ban fracking within the city limits of Denton Texas in November, where there are currently over 270 fracking wells. The referendum passed with 61% of the vote. Then, in response, the big government republicans in Austin decided to subvert our democracy and nullifie our vote with HB40- the language of which bans coties from impeding corporate profits.
In response- we are demonstrating civil disobedience. I chose to be arrested today (along with two others, and three yesterday) not only because of the obvious health and environmental, but more importantly because HB40 directly threatens our right to democracy. The arresting officers were cordial, gentle, and understanding; and the magistrate judge came in early to release us without bail (personal bond).
I urge any Texan to contact your representative to let them know that HB40 violates the very freedoms our troops die for, and any dentonite to show up to tonight's city hall meeting to voice their concern, and to join us on the front lines.
This fight is far from over!
I'll upload pics and video shortly.

Truly an Honor to be on your side. I will watch for it on the local news.
Please pm me if there's something you need. I will do what I can to assist.

(3,249 posts)HB40 undermines democracy and everyone's rights as property owners (except of course the oil and gas industries). I've wanted to buy land, but not with fracking going on next to or under it, a or anywhere near it.
