Maybe you missed it but more Americans now identify as socially liberal than socially conservative, and young people are fleeing organized religion at a swift pace. Both stories have been posted here over the past few days. Not to mention that the majority of Americans are pro Marriage Equality. Those facts are much more indicative of where we're headed than what you posted, wouldn't you say?

It's not too difficult anymore for me believe they'd actually say this. Even a handful of self-described progressives on DU have said (in inelegant and sub-literate terms) that sex is a requirement for them and they would die if it wasn't provided/taken, and that coercing women into providing them with sex is not simply moral, but in fact, a natural duty.

Backwards, indeed.

These are fringe reactionary religious deviants. The mainstream has abandoned these stances long ago.

There's a reason young people are rejecting religion in this country.
