Why am I Xd about "airbaggate"

In the hearing today on the Hill, the Congresscritters acted as if (1) funding had been misspent and (2) all car airbags could be fixed instantly if enough money was thrown at it.

Hello? Did anyone consider the sub-supplier situation?

Why should they waste money if they could max out profits by supplying over 5 years instead of 9 months?

And could they scale up so fast?
