Former McKinney officer says the officers targeted blacks while not confronting any of the whites

Former McKinney Officer: Police Department Must Get Race Problem ‘Under Control’
by Ken Meyer | 4:05 pm, June 8th, 2015

The McKinney, Texas police department was on alert and under heavy patrol Monday morning after officers received death threats over the weekend. The concern came as a result of backlash from a viral video on Friday, showing officer Eric Casebolt drawing his handgun on unarmed teenagers at a pool party, and throwing an African-American teenage girl to the ground.

Attorney Pete Schulte, who previously served as an officer in the McKinney PD, spoke to Fox 4 News about the video’s indications of racial tension. “McKinney police have got to get this under control before tomorrow,” Schulte stated. “They got to get out there in front of this and make sure that citizens, even outside of the city of McKinney, understand that they’re going to do the right thing and take corrective action and that this was not racially motivated.”

Schulte also discussed Casebolt’s treatment of 15-year-old Dajerria Becton, saying it was “crazy” of him to react to the situation as he did. “I don’t care what she was yelling at that officer,” said Schulte. “Anything would not have justified throwing her to the ground and pushing her down and throwing her face into the concrete like he did.” He also stated that the suggested racism was especially present in the video since officers were not shown confronting any of the white party attendees:

“There is an indication based on watching the video that the white people who were around the officers weren’t talked to, they weren’t pushed away, they weren’t told to get on the ground, they weren’t put in handcuffs. The only individuals McKinney police were doing that to were those that were African-American.”

It was about as blatant as it could be. When the video starts (after GI Joe does his tactical roll) the kid (who is white) filming the video walks up to another cop with Joe's flashlight and the cop is polite and calm. Hate to think what he would've said to the kid had he been black. He would surely have been arrested for "stealing" police property.

2. Question: Were the two white women who hit the girls charged for assault?

If they want to calm things down,. that is the first thing. Haven't seen anything about any action being taken against them. Does anyone know?

4. It may be racial tension in the neighborhood

since the whole incident started with a fight between white kids and black kids, and white neighbors calling the cops about the party. I would not totally dismiss the racial issues in that neighborhood.

6. And it's not just that one cop. And what does it mean "get under control"?

There were several other policemen walking around and not taking positive action (like getting the rogue cop away.)

And it's not a matter of getting this under control. That usually means issuing platitudes to the media and the locals. It's a matter of rectifying this wrong. Throw the book at that cop, investigate the other police involved, investigate how that cop was hired, and make sure you don't ever hire someone with those pathological social problems again.

but was never confronted or told to "leave" by the cops as he moved around the scene.

The Pavlovian conditioning of cops (white or black) to react only to black faces is remarkable.

Where if you are a big white ex-con biker wearing a patch, you are allowed to sit around with your buddies, checking your smart phone, and wait to get processed in an orderly manner. BUT IF YOU ARE A 14 YEAR-OLD BLACK GIRL, WEARING NOTHING BUT A BIKINI, YOU ARE THROWN TO THE CEMENT GROUND AND MANHANDLED.

Thank you, Corporal Casebolt for keeping us safe.
