Graham deserves credit for this. he could have done as scott walker and just said something about how it's a personal decision and he wasn't going to make any other comment on it. but he is actually very sympathetic and supportive.
<Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says Caitlyn Jenner is welcome in the Republican Party.
If Caitlyn Jenner wants to be safe and have a prosperous economy, vote for me. Im into addition. I havent walked in her shoes. I dont have all the answers to the mysteries of life. I can only imagine the torment that Bruce Jenner went through. I hope she has found peace, Graham said.
Im a pro-life, traditional marriage kind of guy. But Im running to be president of the United States. If Caitlyn Jenner wants to be a Republican, she is welcome in my party, he added.
Asked if the GOP should reach out to transgender Americans, Graham said, Were all in this together.>

(54,074 posts)Good for Graham. His support is from an unexpected source. Too bad it doesn't always extend from our side.

(21,786 posts)Yes, there's quite a lot of (unconfirmed, as far as I know) speculation that Graham is gay, and in the closet; being gay and being transgender aren't the same thing, though (gender identity is not sexuality).

(89,290 posts)the ridicule of Graham is about how he is a stereotypical gay male with the feminine manners.
the common thing would be that both would not have felt they could be free and open with who they are .

(89,290 posts)but there is no way he would be re-elected in South Carolina . but you never know since he survived the primary while supporting immigration bill and many other things that the right wing is opposed to.

(532 posts)I said this about Frothy Santorum and it applies to Fainty Graham: It has nothing to do with anything other than Jenner being Republican and famous. As long as they can ride the coattails, they don't care about the dress.
