Since we know drones work, why aren't they used against poachers in Africa?

Rhinos for their 'magical' horns, Elephants for their tusks? Large area, minimal effective protective-to-wildlife ground 'troops'?
I'm asking drones would be useful (by description) preventing eco-terrorism.

Are you referring to the drones with cameras that seem to be ubiquitous in the U.S.? I would bexsurprised if they are not already being used in anti-poaching activities.

If you are referring to drones that fire missles, well, those are owned and operated by the U.S. military. I am unaware if any African government has requested help from the U.S. military in their quest to reduce poaching.

as either with an on-the-spot designation as an enemy combatant or an acceptable casualty.

Blowing up nearby elephants and rhinoceroses will not be tolerated.
