Talk Amongst Yourselves

I'll give you a topic: SANDERS-CHAFEE

Talk amongst yourselves.

And what do DU people think about the practice of a presidential candidate declaring a vice-president running mate? Thanks for increasing my understanding of this.

I just don't see the need to announce a VP when one hasn't even won the nomination yet.

Seriously though, it's a terrible idea. Sanders needs someone strong to stand by him. Chafee doesn't instill confidence.

5. Barbara Lee is my choice for Sanders as a running mate. She and he are so close on the issues

for one thing and have collaborated a few times, like now on the TPP eg, already. Both voted against the Patriot Act and against the Iraq War, repeatedly as someone reminded me.

Also, that would put Barbara Lee who I consider to be one of the best female Reps we've ever had, she is RIGHT on almost all the issues, and has the record to show it, in line to be the first woman President after Bernie's term is up. Which would give the country 16 years of true progressive policies, and two barriers broken, first Jewish President and first Woman president. Time for the country to make the turnaround it so badly needs and to consolidate policies which is going to take a long time, repairing the damage I mean.

I agree with you re Chafee. He's a nice guy, principled and ethical as far as I know. Maybe a cabinet position for him.

8. I would make Liz Warren Treasury Secretary. No more foxes in the hen house, we need a real Guard Dog

in that position to dig up all the dirt and corruption they have been hiding. She HAS tried to get it out of them, see some of her contentious dialogues with Treasury Secretary Geithner eg.

As I said above, I would love to see Barbara Lee as VP, she and Bernie are so close on all the issues and both stood up against Bush/Cheney when it was needed, voting against the Iraq War and Patriot Act. That took guts and both of them have guts.

So eight years of Bernie, then eight more for the first Female President, Barbara Lee.

Warren as Treasury Secretary which I think she would just LOVE.

Maybe O'Malley for Secretary of State, or Defense.

I'm still working on Bernie's cabinet lol.

Attorney General, haven't decided on that yet.

But we need someone who will hold all criminals accountable.

Van Jones back for Environment where he belongs, never should have 'resigned'.

I'm not allowed to make lists like this because it always comes out too crazy.

Mumia Abu Jamal for Attorney General and stuff like that.

Willie Nelson for head of the DEA and Secretary of Agriculture.

Kucinich head of the Dept of Peace, which imo, is a great idea, but way ahead of its time in this regressive period we are going through.

We have to do it incrementally, sudden changes, such as Mumia as AG would probably put the entire country into a state of shock, although people do get used to things eventually.

9. Warren is great, but her voice would be lost as VP.

She would have to stay behind the scenes and mostly stay in line with whatever the President is saying. She's better off in the senate.

We're going to do well in New England no matter what. We need somebody from the south or west.
