I Want To Know Why Casebolt Felt He Had To Do The Tuck & Roll Maneuver?....

What was that all about?

He wasn't prepared for this call where he lost it? Come on. He's been on this force for 10 years and this was too much for him?

If he was feeling so distraught from the two suicide calls he was on - he should have had the sense not to respond to the pool party call.

If what he is claiming is that these two previous calls had an effect on him - I would assume that could happen to any cop. Maybe that stress of the job needs to be investigated for all cops. They might have to come up with some sort of time out for cops on the job.

I'm thinking of truck drivers now that have to keep time sheets and not be on the road for long lengths of time. Maybe something on that sort needs to be implemented for cops.

It would make the whole experience a little more bearable.

... in a thread a day or so ago that suggested it was because he tripped and fell, and turned into a tuck and roll to cover it - sort of an "I meant to do that" kind of thing.

I'm inclined to go with that theory unless something has come out to dispel it.

However, he did have several videos on Youtube that he referred to as training videos and he did post this one briefly amongst them. They have all since been taken down.

So I kinda wonder if it was his attempt at playing Riggs from the lethal weapon movies. Whatever it was (trip or stunt) it only made him look more like "Paul Blart, Mall Cop"

"If what he is claiming is that these two previous calls had an effect on him - I would assume that could happen to any cop. Maybe that stress of the job needs to be investigated for all cops."

I would hope such calls would have an effect. The variety and severity of calls they go on is amazing and psychologically brutal. Until police captains across the country start calling for sweeping changes, this doesn't get to be used as an excuse for anything. Somehow the whole system needs to change. Including extreme care for officers and their mental health. It is as if their outlet is violence. Starting to look more an more like it is all circular and the group who should be fighting for changes the most(leo's) is doing just the opposite. I believe that is called testosterone running wild.

"He's been on this force for 10 years and this was too much for him?"

The straw that breaks the camels back is often minor compared to what has happened in the past. It is often why rages occur over something we from the outside view as minimal. Because it isn't really about that.

"I'm thinking of truck drivers now that have to keep time sheets and not be on the road for long lengths of time. Maybe something on that sort needs to be implemented for cops."

Attaching calls in some readable manner to the responding cops jacket would be excellent if not already done. Unfortunately, where I currently stand, these changes won't change the fundamental flaws of the system.

calls? Is their reaction to go hurt people?

Cops need to be able to get the help they need without risking their livelihood. Yes, dealing with suicides can be very tough, but to then go out and over react and hurt people? Those teens are really lucky they didn't get shot.

I think he tripped when he had to run around someone who didn't "Get out of the way!!" fast enough. Probably was part of why he was so pissed off.
