We just got home. I went with Marta and waited while she was getting her hair done. I was listening to CSPAN while reading the DU on my phone.
Anyone that has ever questioned Rep. Nancy Pelosi as our leader in the House has an I told you so from the faithful that tastes like crow. She not only stood up to the POTUS, she stood up for the common worker! This is history. History the oligarchy won't soon forget.
I'm so glad the DU sent Nancy all those roses a few years ago.
This will be momentum that carries on through the 2016 general election.
Today we can take great pride in being a Democrat from the FDR mold!

Snip: "Slow down the fast track to get a better deal for the America people," the California lawmaker said in a speech that drew handshakes and hugs from union-backed Democrats who have labored for months to reject Obama's request for "fast track" authority in trade talks.
Republicans command a majority in the House, and Speaker John Boehner and the GOP leadership worked in harness with Obama to pass the legislation. But there were many defections among Republicans unwilling to expand the president's authority and not nearly enough Democrats supporting him for the bill to prevail.
The outcome was also a triumph for organized labor, which had lobbied lawmakers furiously to oppose the measure that union officials warned would lead to the loss of thousands of American jobs.
I'm sure you have all seen the full story. I just didn't want you to miss the part about labor standing tall for EVERY middle class American on down.

(54,770 posts)2. That'd good. Maybe, t's good for living Organized labor today, and a year or two. For unborn labor
and after a few years, it's questionable.
I think before it's over, we'll come to some compromise that accomplishes a lot for people looking at it from both perspectives. Perhaps that is as it should be.

Call Whitehouse and Congress to oppose TPP and other corporate law agreements masquerading as "trade" agreements.
