I believe that was his name...Skinner started a thread where you can only say positive things about a Democratic candidate and the candidate to be discussed was Al Sharpton. Jacinto disrupted the thread with a negative comment about him and got banned.

(111,111 posts)He was one of the first martyrs for the DLC and the moderate movement of the Democratic Party that was on DU in the early days, as I recall.

EDIT- it was me that was wrong and my memory that is faulty.
Posters below set me straight.
Apologies for my mistake.

(48,955 posts)and a little later in DU history than Jiacinto. But I can't remember the two names of the supposed partners (one who served as a mod?) that ended up being the same poster, iirc.
Carlos/Jiacinto was single - and posting from DC circa 2002-2003. He may have gone to Iowa for the primaries?
There was some classic thread he posted (classic in a bad way) about being mistaken for being Gay in a cab ride home from a bar - and getting beaten up - in which he let more than a few of his prejudices show.

Thanks to the DU'ers who corrected me.

(29,322 posts)Several years ago there was a RBTexas poster more than 1 poster compared him to (I think) and IIRC Trumad compared cboy4 to jacinto
I did a search and came up with a pet theory he may been a racist and Sharpton was a big part of it. Plus, there was him saying Kobe is guilty which seemed inconsistent to me over the reason he brought up for his Sharpton hate. Plus there was a "no one is going to vote for that black woman from Watts" -- I have a lot of admiration for Maxine Waters one of my favorites in the House but then he'd get offended and claim anti-semitism over "Holy Joe" referring to Joe Lieberman. From what I could tell he was the only "Democrat" that liked the guy.

(102,581 posts)He used to post (after being banned here) at Daily Kos, I believe, but not being a DK regular, I have no idea if that continues.
He still occasionally posts at DK. Still a bit of an Asshole that was here. I've always believed he was a paid operative.

(38,520 posts)He trolled the Rush Limbaugh section. When I saw him here I just sat back and watched the nonsense he would start.

(111,111 posts)He would have loved the "Trade Treaty". He fancied himself an economist - came across as a supply-sider at times. He was "too Republican" for DU at that time but he managed to hang around for a long time.

(14,689 posts)The name was so familiar I went digging. He was the original DLC member, perhaps Joe Lieberman's only defender (besides dolstein). Looks like J. Carlos Jiacinto graduated from American University in D.C and went on to work for the Department of Defense.
He was a very conservative Democrat. The Admins were suspicious as well, and actually had a friend check the DC voters rolls to see if he was actually registered Democrat (he was).
QC
(26,371 posts)he wouldn't raise a single eyebrow around here.
He would just be another pragmatic sensible.
