Thats one big reason Republicans hate it and want to kill it. The best solution is simple....raise the cap.

They pay on their income, I pay on mine. Actually I'd accept an end to the Capital Gains tax and just tax all income the same as ordinary income, let them reinvest and expense it if they want to keep the cash.

that would fix the system, too. and they would have to pay the full 13% like independent contractors do.

If we must have a wealthy class, that's the way to do it.

not everybody who has a lot of money gets to keep it all their lives.

imho, this is a better plan than bernie's tax on high speed traders. unless that is done worldwide, the money here will just go to london or tokyo.
i dont disagree that it is a good idea, but trading is just too fluid these days. there are a lot of good jobs here in chicago, and in new york and a lot of other places, in those exchanges and it would be a shame to loose them.

he would need a dreaded international trade agreement to make it work.

That is to say, if you hear someone talking about the "dangers facing SS" you can probably assume they speak very little about the dangers we all face inflicted on us by corporations like destruction of education, mass surveillance, climate change and wars in their interests, not democracies interests.
