Potential criminal here. I confess...

My corner of Connecticut just got hit with a torrential downpour, which started during the wee hours of Sunday night/Monday morning.

We just purchased a cistern for our mini organic farm (a 70x30' plot) so we wouldn't have to keep hauling in water, or pumping it up from the ancient gravity-feed well. Unfortunately, we got the cistern Friday, but we don't yet have the collection device to channel in the rain.

I heard the rain pouring on the roof this morning and all i could think of was the water being wasted (or me having to use that infernal gravity pump). So I woke up early, with the rain still dumping (an inch of rain in less than 24 hours), and headed out to the garden. I dressed for the beach...I knew I was going to get wet. I rigged up some collection devices made out of big lasagna pans and garden trays. As a backup, I placed three drums.

Whoa! Success! I checked back in the afternoon. We added gallons to the cistern, plus the five-gallon drums. Not bad!

Free water, falling from the sky. God bless America? How about People Bless Earth? Gaia has provided more for me than that trendy Christan Fox "News" God ever did.
