Contact The Honorable Nancy Pelosi on the TAA vote

Last edited Tue Jun 16, 2015, 09:17 AM - Edit history (1)

The games being played with the TAA, TPP and Medicare are really horrendous.

Taking $700 million from medicare to help fund something that is completely unrelated, is just despicable. It's another game played by Republicans that don't want to fund anything but war and themselves. The budget signed in December 2014 is what is used as their excuse to get their greedy hands on some of the Medicare budget. In a corporate setting, that would never pass an audit.

Nancy Pelosi is called the TAA expansion bill a win because the program would be extended. But she also said it's not worth passing if it means passing the TPP. It is a program that needs to be extended. But not at the cost of people losing a penny of their medicare benefits or as a tool for fast track.

As of this minute the re-vote has not been scheduled. It could be tomorrow. Please contact your representative and Nancy Pelosi and demand they vote no on the TAA. If they voted against it the first time, please thank him or her. Let them know we need them to stay strong and to vote NO again. Of they voted yes Friday, let them know that that we don't want medicare touched and we don't want fast track authority given without knowing what is in the TPP.

You can use the friendly tool from the Sanders campaign:
Sanders Take Action Fast Track

Or you can use the Fight For Freedom tool (I like this one a little better):
Fight The Fast Track

If they don't give you the option to contact the Honorable Nancy Pelosi, please contact her directly at
(202) 225-4965 or (415) 556-4862

You can also go through her website:
Contact Pelosi

Maybe remind The Honorable Pelosi that Hillary Clinton is backing her on this.

Thank you

I know I thought it.

I will edit the OP. Thank you!

I almost made the subject line "CALL YOUR CONGRESSPERSON RIGHT FUCKING NOW!" In honor of all our old DUers.

but that is the headline I would have gone for. But I think that would fucking be expected of me.

I just think that the TAA is sort of a theatrical distraction, so can't repeat this enough. IMO and all that.

The grimly determined intent is to pass Fast Track. The rest is just a convoluted shell game.

I would add, that the TAA is a bullshit bill because of the Republicans hiding the theft from medicare.

I really abhor this kind of politics.

I love that subject line. But the last time I used it I received a bunch of negative comments and they hijacked the purpose of the OP. This is too important to take that chance.

You are a great DUer. Time here doesn't matter in that respect.
