(as opposed to voter suppression which is a different subject altogether)

(22,336 posts)I think it means, you have the privilege to not worry about whether there end up being Supreme Court justices who totally outlaw all abortion, or create racist literarcy tests to vote, or any of a number of other things. That if you're a member of a group that doesn't have all of its civil rights and/or is seeing its civil rights erode, you are scared enough of a Republican president that in the general election you'll vote for whoever has a D behind their name.
