I would have loved to listen to him talk more
He has a way to explain everything and make it make sense and not lie.

Jon Stewart said it was very very long.
Enjoy.

(206,876 posts)I always enjoyed his appearances on David Letterman, as well, and Dave was smart enough to realize exactly how intelligent the former president is and how much he actually knows and understands. The appearance that sticks in my mind was right after 9/11 when everyone was still extremely frightened and pretty freaked out. Dave just sat back and let the former president speak, calmly explaining the background and his understanding of what had happened and why. Dave was obviously both moved and reassured, reacted by asking him if he would be our president again. The audience went wild...

(9,967 posts)I agree about the times he was on Letterman. I remember once after his chat with Clinton was over, Dave turned to Paul and said something to the effect of "how can there be brains like his and brains like mine"

(91,042 posts)....and how he/they are making it happen. Bill Clinton connects with all kinds of people, he asks questions and listens, and he makes connections with people and resources in ways I've never heard of before.
And -- he makes what he does sound as natural as breathing.
Here's a thing, which I hope I have accurately: he linked up the AFL-CIO, another trade union, and the Teachers' Union. One wants to build stuff, it's what they do. The teachers have pension funds they need to invest -- and so do the trade unions. What better way to invest the pension funds than by investing in the building of things -- like for instance repairing La Guardia Airport, which is a massive project.
At least 15,000 jobs are being created, probably more, but I couldn't listen fast enough.
someone needs to get a transcript of this interview, or at least listen to the whole thing online, and post the information at DU. So many lies are being spread around about the Clinton Global Initiative that I simply had no idea he was doing things like putting unions in touch with each other.
Damn it all to hell, while Obama pleads with Congress to take infrastructure seriously and while Congress thumbs their collective nose at the president, the Clinton Foundation is actually able to get some of it up and running.
The Big Dog makes it sound so natural -- which I guess to him it is. For the rest of us, it's impossible. Plus the information is being so distorted by our fellow DUers. Okay I'll stop now.
I still love the Big Dog.

(17,320 posts)somehow my post got put onto the wrong thread. The other OP was talking about Boston now carrying radio with Limbaugh and the regular right-wing propagandists. No, I wasn't referring to Steward as "right wing lunacy".

(70,388 posts)one of the things that really excited me about a president hillary clinton.
i miss peace,
i miss prosperity,
i miss bill.
and hillary's real priorities are plain for anyone to see by looking at what the cgi has accomplished.
