Rachel Dolezal's parents outed her to discredit her charges of abuse against her brother?

Sorry if this is old news...I hadn't heard about this aspect of the controversy. Sounds like a sad, messed up family.

Controversy prompts Iowa college to disclose prof’s felony charges
Central College drawn in to the Rachel Dolezal racial identity scandal

An unlikely connection to Rachel Dolezal, the former NAACP chapter president who resigned after being outed by her parents as a white woman pretending to be black, prompted a small religious college in Iowa to disclose it has known for more than a year about felony sexual abuse charges against a professor there who is her brother.

The president of Pella-based Central College emailed the campus community with the news Tuesday, after media reports began linking associate professor of English Joshua Dolezal to the case. The reports revealed Joshua Dolezal, 39, faces four felony counts of sexual abuse of a child, an adopted sibling, in Colorado, stemming from incidents in 2001 and 2002.

{snip}

The Dolezal parents have refuted the allegations against Joshua Dolezal and insinuated that Rachel Dolezal had orchestrated them.

Rachel Dolezal is former head of the Spokane, Wash., NAACP chapter who became an international topic of controversy over her racial identity and allegations of racial bias.

She has suggested her estranged parents outed her background in an attempt to discredit her as her brother’s case reaches a key juncture. It is due for trial this August.

3. Sadly, I wouldn't believe her even if her tongue came notarized.

Irregardless of the charges against her brother, she has told far too many lies over the years. I do have some sympathy for her getting herself into this mess. But lying appears to be her default position.

5. It is her adopted sister, Esther, who pressed charges against the brother.

This is a matter of public record. The brother has only been charged -- not proven guilty. And it will be a very difficult case given that it happened years ago.

But there is no doubt that the younger sister is the one who made this claim.

Here is the charging document that was filed in court:

9. On what issue? Obviously, she isn't black.

But her sister and one of her brothers confirms what she says about the family. The other two brothers disagree. This is a classic dysfunctional family.

In an interview with The Post last week, Zach Dolezal implied Esther had taken Rachel’s side in the Dolezal family dispute.

“Esther is also on the list to stay away from at the moment,” he said. “… We are dealing with an internal family issue.”

Here’s Esther Dolezal’s complete post:

For something that is making a difference, someone that is making positive changes in this messed up world, why would someone want to stop the good work they are doing? Why would someone want to reverse the positivity that has been created? Why does everything have to come down to race?

Fakeness.

People say it’s fake. Everything that has been created. The unity, the community that has resulted. All the good that has, and people want to tear it down simply because of color.

They say leaders can’t have secrets. That leaders can’t have private lives with their families. That if there is one miscommunication, then nothing is true.

Some things can’t be understood I guess.

But speaking of fakeness, think about the accusers.

You think they don’t have secrets?

10. On any/every issue. She's been confirmed a serial liar and attention seeker.

These abuse allegations could be 100% true, and yet a person like Dolezal might still fabricate supporting testimony.

Her credibility absolutely matters.

I don't think we know much about what happened to Rachel despite all the coverage that has gone over her childhood and all the weird things she did as an adult, including suing her university for discrimination.

I'll withhold judgement on this because of that.

Who I suspect had their own nefarious reasons for wanting her outed, but the rumors swirled around her "race" over there for years, and one of their reporters finally decided to search for her folks.
