http://thehill.com/regulation/other/239934-hillarys-2016-bid-energizes-supporters-of-gun-controlClinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, has been a staunch advocate of gun-control proposals, such as expanding background checks and banning assault weapons. Last summer, she ripped groups that oppose those ideas as out of step with public opinion.
We cannot let a minority of people, and thats what it is, it is a minority of people, hold a view point that terrorizes the majority of people, Clinton said during a CNN town-hall event.

(14,255 posts)1. Will background checks be expanded to all friends and relatives?
Because last night the killer used a gun he was given for his birthday, I read somewhere.
Background checks, of course, need to be done, but they are just a band-aid.
I hate guns. I am afraid of them, because they are enablers. But it seems the police can kill people with guns, with impunity.

Putting rights up to a majority vote is a guarantee that down the road the rights will no longer exist.
And I'm not talking about 2nd amendment rights at all. I'm talking about Equal Protection 14th amendment rights.
