(53,978 posts)And the the N-word carries just as much power. There is a huge campaign in the black community to not use this word and then he uses it, thereby giving license to every racist Tom, Dick and Harry to use it and defend it's use because the president uses it.

(36,228 posts)is to compare using a slur in that context to be the same as using it as a racist slur.
I have been alerted on so many times for typing out the c word like this c*nt... and the alerters always try to convince jurors that my typing out the word in that way during a discussion on why the word is a misogynistic slur, is as bad or worse than the offense of it being used as a misogynistic slur. And sometimes they were successful in getting me a hide, sometimes not... It's a crapshoot.
I think people ought not make those types of comparisons as they are disingenuous. They are not one in the same.
