Americans have joined, or threatened to join, the Islamic State terrorist group for all sorts of curious reasons.

This may be the most ridiculous.

A 45-year-old Omaha man recently told others he wanted to join the group to take on an enemy.

The enemy? The Nebraska Humane Society.
