Pop some popcorn - My FAVORITE time to watch Faux News. They

are apocalyptic ! (or is it apoplectic ?) Maybe both.

Just last Father's Day, my wingnut FIL was just giddy telling me Obamacare would be gone soon !
He said that they "Republicans" had picked one guy who was coming up with a replacement plan night and day to "drop in" when the Supreme Court struck down ACA.

After all, revealing out now can no longer spoil negotiations over a replacement plan between Ds and Rs in Congress.

Come on, show me that novel you have been working on for the last 5 years! I won't judge! Just gimme the plot-summary!

they didn't strike down the law. Because they had 6 replacement plans and they were all different.

Said that they would be stuck with NO plan and the Dems could just say "hey, we have a plan" The Dems could have just put up an amendment to fix the issue. Then Reps would have voted no - but had no replacement plan and would have looked bad.

....when there is something that actually helps the American people comes into play.? They have this strange way of thinking the poor and down-trodden are somehow undeserving of basic human kindness.

It's like they are the very type of people that SHOULDN'T be on this earth. (although they have every right to be..)

have developed a PR campaign for every single dem who ever got on TV.

The biggest elephant in the room "Why don't you care about the millions of Americans who can not see a doctor when they are sick"?

You never hear them say that and it's just so damn simple.

Since most of them believe in Jesus who devoted his entire life to helping the poor and down trodden. If they were "thinking" people, they would see the contradiction. But, they listen to FOX or Limbaugh...words go into their ears and come out of their mouth and never pass thru their tiny little brains.

on his cell. So true !

What's amazing is my FIL is retired Government/Military and gets a good pension, all kinds of benefits and good healthcare. He also has a ranch and gets subsidies.

But that doesn't stop him from not giving two shits about people who don't and "take" all the time.

...my Dad when Obama was running in 2008.
My dad was an educator who taught and was an administrator in the Panama Canal Zone. He retired from there and went to work for the state of Florida. He was a lifelong democratic who I learned some of my liberal values from. He had been retired a number of years in 2008, and I was surprised to see all of these anti-Obama e-mails being forwarded to me by him and all of his retired school system cronies!

Since this was so unlike anything I expected from him, I finally rang him up. I asked him several questions:

1) What do you & your e-mail buddies have against Obama?
Answer: Oooh, he's gonna drive us to socialism!
2) Where did your pay checks come from when you were working?
Answer: The government!
3) Now that you're retired, you have a pension and healthcare? And are they good?
Answer: Yes and the pensions and healthcare coverage are great!
4) So where did the pensions & health care come from?
Answer: The government!
So I asked him the same 4 questions about all of his e-mail jokers (all retired school people) and of course all of the answers were the same!

So I told him "Since you and your buds all earned your livings and pensions from the government, by definition you all are the biggest bunch of socialists I know!"

There were crickets.....and I never got another anti-Obama e-mail from him again!
Sorry for the length, but thought you would enjoy it.

Peace

it has something to do with our parent's generation. They lived when people trusted the government and media - like Walter Cronkite ? If the government said something or the network news reported it - it was true.

Unfortunately in some ways - that era is gone but they still think everything on TV is true and things that are emailed are true?
