(30,481 posts)I went back further than him. It's kind of hard because of all that changes in congress and society. I still think the ACA and civil rights put him over the top. Along with much of the verbiage that has come from the White House. We need to build off his success.

(10,953 posts)but I have a hard time placing President Obama as one of the greats. While he has had to deal with an obstructionist Congress, I have more and more problems with some of his moves in his second term, including TPP. Now that he doesn't have to get re-elected, he doesn't seem to care so much of fighting the the masses and seems to be more ready to cave to the Republicans. I have very mixed feelings about him now.
Once Bernie Sanders entered the race I have a very hard time being enthusiastic about any other Democratic candidate. I feel a little burned by Obama right now and not too inclined to be a cheerleader for Hillary.
If I were young (in my 20s) I would be looking to leave the US. At my age I will just be happy to survive this country until I die.
