Fire At Black Church In North Carolina Ruled Arson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Investigators with the Charlotte Fire Department in North Carolina say a fire at a predominantly black church is arson.

A statement from the fire department said it took about an hour Wednesday to get the fire at Briar Creek Road Baptist Church under control. Two firefighters were treated for heat-related injuries.

The department's statement said a resident from a nearby apartment complex called 911 just before 1 a.m. to report the fire.

Charlotte Fire Department Senior Investigator David Williams said, "We completed our work on the scene and determined this was intentionally set."

Investigators are not sure if the fire was racially motivated. The church's congregation is predominantly black.

Fire inside a church with a primarily African-American congregation in Macon, Georgia has been ruled as arson by fire officials, reported the Telegraph.

Macon-Bibb County fire Sergeant Ben Gleaton told the newspaper that while the investigation into Tuesday’s fire at the God’s Power Church of Christ continues, enough evidence had been discovered to rule the blaze had been deliberately set.

The arson ruling came a day after North Carolina authorities said a predominantly black church in Charlotte was purposefully burned, and roughly a week after a white gunman opened fire in an African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina, killing nine people.

Hopefully there will be no more. I don't think this country is quite in the mood for racist intimidation. COWARDS!

that there are elements of the KKK and/or White Identity Movement at play and they are trying to start a race war. I was told how crazy that sounds...now...doesn't sound so crazy anymore now does it?
