2. It's an interesting point, but the line they quoted doesn't say that to me.

Some lawyers may see it differently. They quote this: “certain personal choices central to individual dignity and autonomy”. The question to me is whether gun concealed gun possession is "central to individual dignity." I don't see why it would be.

17. "Now righties are saying they have concealed carry reciprocity because of equal marriage."

Tubular things kept concealed under clothing, no?

You've never seen my big guns GGJohn, and you never will.

I was born into a family of strong wild west women, and married into a family of strong women, all who know how to handle guns. Quite a few of the men too...

I understand hunting, putting meat on the table. I'm mostly vegetarian because that's easier on this earth, but I have no great fondness for wild pigs or overpopulations of deer. If a relative makes sausages and shares... oh my, sausages...

I inherited my great aunt's sausage making tools. She did a lot of sausages.

Yum, sausages...

Aside from all that hot sausage imagery, I've been in many rough situations, a few life-or-death situations, at least according to the idiots holding the gun. Not once would these situations have been improved if I'd been another idiot holding a gun.

Your mileage may vary. My mom's family were pacifists. Yeah, I know, that takes a bit of religious insanity. My mom's family, and my mom, have plenty of that. They are pacifists because otherwise they are berserkers. My dad's dad, much to his dismay and love of loud things like guns, bombs, and airplanes, was deemed too valuable by the Army Air Force to risk in that sort of World War II adventure.

Myself, my parents are artists, and I'm like Doctor Who, a very dangerous fellow when I don't know what I'm doing.

It's the times I have known what I'm doing that revisit me most often as nightmares.

5. They might have a point if a state banned gun ownership entirely

But concealed carry isn't a right. Bearing arms in general is.

Of course, since they equate marriage with gun ownership, it makes the term "ammosexual" even more appropriate

12. Read the Heller decision

Scalia explicitly says that. According to Heller, the only explicit right the 2A protects is the right to own a gun in your home.

15. Yet gunners love to carry everywhere, including churches, restaurants, bars, etc.

Truthfully, if more gunners were like you we wouldn't have a problem. But, they are not.

11. No, they're twisting the rationale the SCOTUS used- there was no element of "reciprocity"

as compared between states in the decision. The equal protection argument was same-sex marriage seekers vs. hetero marriage seekers, with the SC finding a fundamental liberty interest to get married and same-sex couples being afforded the same right as hetero.

It wasn't that a whole bunch of states already recognize gay marriage, therefore the rest have to as well, what this guy seems to think.

It's just typical right wing ignorance. They don't know how to think.
