I'm just realizing that all this bursting of the norms may be related to...the PLUTO Mission!

Ok, you might think it's nuts, but you have to remember that astrology is a language of symbols, of archetypes.

Pluto was discovered at the dawn of the atomic age....it represents, in broad strokes, and to quote (sort of) Robert Hand, an incredible genius, ...

"Pluto symbolizes the radical transformation of consciousness and being that must result...Pluto is the archetype of death and resurrection: it breaks down the old and outworn entities into their component parts, and then reassembles them into new being. ...It does it at every level of life...There comes a time when the mind's old structures no longer work and the only hope is to destroy them and build new ones... Pluto represents an evolutionary power built into the nature of things...As Pluto is connected to breakdown and decay, so it is also connected to those elements of society that reflect breakdown and decay...(Pluto)is the purifying that an entity must go through in order to pass from one level to another of being to another. ..."

From "Horoscope Symbols" by Robert Hand

So, after 10 years, New Horizons is now approaching for its bypass of Pluto on JULY 14! It is sending back pictures, as we've seen here at DU...The start of the close encounter countdown started April 15 and July 14 is the big day....
time of the closest approach which will be at 7:49:59 a.m. EDT (11:49:59 UTC) on July 14, 2015

I don't have my astro program up and running again, but I can tell you personally, that Pluto in my chart as been coinciding with a burst of breaking chains and an insatiable desire for freedom, as my mother approaches the end of her life. Plutonian energy is working on so many levels.

There are also major cycles at work....I need to check them out...

He is a very nice person and very interesting as well.

His father or grandfather invented Nair, but Rob did not get any of that money.

I don't know about Pluto, but I'll rec the thread for Rob.

He is the most brilliant person I ever met! I remember when he got married!

"Horoscope Symbols" was probably the first astro book I got and it is falling apart...I finally had to get a SECOND copy of his "Plantets in Transit." !!!!

I didn't know about the NAIR connection...that sure is out of left field!

come down from the mountains - to take with it who it may. And change the world.

One other interpretation was on the Year of the Dragon - that the fate of the haves and have not would come to a head. It has seemed for some years that the haves were going to triump over the others. In some ways, it still feels that way.

No clue in what I read as to the results for people. And Nihilists wouild be pleased with the freedom of destroying things, to rebuild in their image. Like ISIS. Others would not be so violent.

I've read we are in the middle of an 80 year cycle, in the same stage as the 1930s were. But we don't seem to be planning for the same result. We may give in and adapt.

Just sayin,' but I suspect you know more. Interesting to think of such things, both depressing and uplifing depending on one's outlook.

Senator Rand Paul and former Senator Rick Sanctorum's interest in beastiality has been duly noted, more than once.

I suspect Rand's toupee is part of why he is so enthralled with the notion, as it may have its own love interest and it may be affecting his howls (uh, thinking).

But as for Rick...

Well that's a whole 'nother animal.

Pluto in Capricorn 2008 to 2023

Enter Pluto (which moved into Capricorn in November 2008), whose planetary purpose is to destroy that which no longer fits with the evolutionary plan. Pluto is set to transform the very structure of society, and how we live on our planet.

http://astrology.about.com/od/plutoincapricornto2023/qt/PlutoCap.htm

It seems to be doing its number on the SC with their landmark decisions the last two days.

Some GOP say this period ends in 2030 and they don't mean us or the planet any good... My interpretation is that they want to clear out a lot of people by then, or somehow lock them into a very bad position.

If energies are not navigated well, the opportunity is wasted or things can be worse later on because lessons have not been learned...

I'm not so optimistic since I heard today the antigay marriage crowd are going to use the same tactics they've used against Roe and they will be doing the religious feedom thing...They won't allow us much peace...

I also think that we are each one going on a path. Some are going to be positive and some negative and as we 'grow up' we are going to realize it is our choice. Tthose who follow a loving energy hope the wisdom of it will become self-evident. I think we are at a crossroad like nothing we have ever seen. I have a lot of thoughts about your OP... the possibilities for either outcome are there.

Or the studies showing that there are indeed, personality types clustered during certain months (signs)? And that astro glyphs are basically a descriptive language that we can learn to understand? That MANY psychologists make use of that language in their practices??? Gee, I wonder why the Vatican has locked up all that astrological stuff...because we don't need a church, we have all the tools on our own?

Have you read "Conversing with the Planets" by Prof. Anthony Aveni which outlines how man was connected to the sky through observation before we all got trapped in tech? That we've lost our intuition and connection to the rhythms of life?

I suggest you read Aveni and then get back to me ....release yourself from the literal and become more open to the symbolism that we all can relate to on the most basic level....
