It has been a day now with Marriage Equality now legal in all 50 states - How has your life changed?

Been reading all these comments from Right-Wing Fundies and Faux News hosts and GOP President Candidates and I really expect a shit storm out there, according to them.

So I thought I'd have DUers check in and see how they survived the first night with marriage equality now available in 50 states.

Based on what I've heard I suspect some of this may have happened to you

Absolutely nothing has changed since Marriage equality. My life is still the same as it was yesterday but now my LGBT friends have marriage equality. It's about time all citizens of the USA have equal rights!

3. I went to a dinner in Santa Monica

I was the only white guy there but that's unremarkable since my gf is from the Philippines. There were four couples there including ourselves and three young women whose husbands were home. Two gay couples were among the four, one male and one female were there. They married in the last year or so now their marriage is federally recognized. That will help with immigration for one as he is here illegally.

On the way to Santa Monica we drove through West Hollywood. There was a festive atmosphere and lots of rainbow colored balloons.

4. The night DOMA was overturned I worked a Melissa Etheridge concert

I volunteer as an usher at a local concert venue here in Delaware and we just happen to have Melissa Etheridge booked that same exact day. That was a pretty rowdy crowd and I think Melissa even admitted she was a bit drunk with happiness. Many of the patrons were at a rally over at the Riverfront earlier that day so they were happy campers too.

It was a great concert.

Last night I thought of heading over to the local gay bar, it's 2 blocks away. Thought it would be nice to be part of the celebration. But in the end I just went to bed early. My happy hour ended up being happy night last night on Thursday.

Went out and celebrated in boy's town and girl's town and have no idea why I am awake. Best time ever. Joy, tears, extremely, deeply happy people feeling a sense of inclusion for the first time in a world where we so often felt only hate

Love my community!

so happy for you and all the same-sex couples out there.

Of course the work is still not done but at least we are in going in the right direction of history!

Our Probate Judge has stopped providing civil marriages, cause he does not want to have to marry gays.
So only clergy can perform marriages in the county now.
Which leaves us heathens out of the loop.

discussing my strident support of "marriage" (I refuse to call it "gay marriage" as if it were different from other marriages), a completely-out-of-my-league woman started a conversation with me at a social gathering, two hours later she went home with me. I've never been so happy to get so little sleep.

I'm pretty sure that is somehow the fault of allowing gays and lesbians to get married. Because otherwise it would be my fault and that can't be right.

So, I can only conclude that all the eligible straight men have now been gay-married.
Oh, and we just had a tornado warning in my area, so there's that...
