This article doesn't mention that. But this has been a satirical Nixon "comeback" joke since for EVER. It's on Jindal's new T-shirt. Is it possible he has no idea? Is it possible he DOES?
This is going to be one hell of a campaign.

Jindal promised his children a dog if elected. Which is why I laughed so hard.

(1,970 posts)Jindal was born in 1971, thus was just a kid during the Nixon years. Probably his staff and advisors were just kids also, or not even born at the time. Most people do not know much about the world before their birth.
Jindal is not very bright, and is quite conservative, so probably he is not a curious person and knows little about his Republican forebears. I am sure if he and his staff knew that "tanned, rested, ready" is a put-down they wouldn't have allowed Jindal to be associated with it.
