I have no problem with churches having a tax exemption but......

the property exemptions should apply only to the property the church/school/parsonage sits on, not the field surround it, or the parking lots that are huge. Some take up areas larger than a whole block. There should be a reasonable area applied to the church that is tax exempt. Beyond that, they should pay like the rest of us.

Why should we subsidize any of their religion? They should pay just like any person or business pays.

No exemptions for anyone ever. Every organization, church, group and business should pay every tax owed. No one should get exemptions including political even.

But since they are all into meddling in government again, I say revoke the tax free status of all churches who tell their congregations whom and what to vote for and and other activities that violate the separation of church and state.

I have a real problem when their commercial holdings like office buildings, apartment complexes, and strip malls that are in competition with local business owners get the divinity exemption.

Separation of church and state comes to mind. Also, far too many of them preach hate from the pulpit. I don't know why they should get tax exempt status for that.

And what amount is spent of political activities in the US and abroad, is that declared, or can money donated for charitable purposes be diverted to accrue profits and political access?

Reforms are needed. Just start with a basic P&L accounting and follow the money, then the PTB can determine what is actually separate the religioneeering expenses from the mundane acquisition of wealth.
