About 3:30 AM would be a great time to do such a thing, though. With a good blade, that pole would be history in under a minute. I know that, because I've cut through similar poles at times. Noisy, but fast.

flaming arrows could work, especially if the points have fish-hook-like barbs to ensure that they catch into the fabric.
