http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/politics/2015/06/30/haslam-not-planning-on-joining-obama-in-nashville/29514093/Gov. Bill Haslam doesn't plan to meet with President Barack Obama on Wednesday when the president travels to Nashville to discuss the Affordable Care Act.
"The governor is not planning to be at the airport or the event," Haslam spokesman David Smith said in a statement to The Tennessean....
This is the third time Obama has visited Nashville in the last 18 months, and the third time Haslam will not be meeting with the president while he's in Tennessee. Haslam, a Knoxville Republican, did appear with the president earlier this year in Knoxville when Obama touted Haslam's Tennessee Promise education plan as the impetus for a similar national plan.
With Obama slated to discuss the Affordable Care Act, some thought Haslam might appear with the president in order to tout his own controversial health care proposal, Insure Tennessee. Although the plan uses funding typically provided for Medicaid expansion through the Affordable Care Act, also known as "Obamacare," Haslam worked to try and distinguish his plan from anything associated with the polarizing federal law.

It would be unfortunate if the federal government was unable to help.
