I had my doubts before, but they are gone. Trump is doing everything he can to prevent a Republican from being elected.

He has just threatened to Perot if he doesn't get absolutely everything he wants from the debates.
In 1999, Donald Trump was running on single payer health care and a 15% wealth tax to pay for it. He's the most effective troll in history, and he's going to hand us the White House.

(90,061 posts)That he is hauling water for us is good, but don't start thinking he is on anybodys side but his own. We need to use him and then discard him like a used tissue.

(102,561 posts)To the extent what he does may hand us the WH--and it surely should, I certainly don't think that is his agenda.

(12,607 posts)He will not stick with it - it is too hard and frankly, boring - having to say the same thing over and over for two years.

I like the thought of him fantasizing being "king maker" or in this case "queen maker" and getting HRC a win in 2016. He likes making "deals" and to him, this is just the quintessential "deal."

(26,118 posts)Trump will do anything for money and won't do anything unless he thinks he'll make money. Right now he's front runner, but he'll bow out when it comes time to disclose his finances, mid Oct deadline, iirc.
Trump's rantings and ravings will make Scott Walker look sane to the conservatives and religious conservatives.
Not betting at all on this strategy winning us the White House.

(56,582 posts)This seems to go past Trump. This seems to be a deliberate "FU" to the Republican party.

(154,021 posts)If he could have it, he would have a debate with himself on the stage.
And I consider him, if he remains in the R primary, a real possibility of actually winning the primary. Not that I think Trump is considering this...
