(20,965 posts)The business press was crushing on ESPN for letting so much talent walk recently. Suddenly Cowherd just got a lot less interesting as an asset. ESPN looks like the big winner. They lost the contract bidding war. Then gave him a lame duck session where Cowherd went over the edge into... seriously what was that? The winner is clearly ESPN. Imagine if they had just resigned him.

kinda screws up the start date with the new place when you can not afford to miss 2 weeks of pay
espn was provided with a way to get rid of him early and give warning to any other rats eager to leave the ship that a similar fate might await them
