General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsA lot of posts about Bush's sobriety today
none about his malfeasance and war crimes. Interesting how his proximity to, and relationship with, the president has DUers constrained to throwing softballs. My how times have changed.

(149,841 posts)It's just that today, we saw pictures of him being obviously inebriated.
The visual is quite riveting.

(32,178 posts)I saw the entire video of his appearance and he certainly was not drunk. Attack him on the things that matter, not on juvenile made up nonsense.

(1,438 posts)The posts suggesting that he was drunk are simply childish.

(64,934 posts)was not drunk. I'm not even sure it is early on-set of dementia, but I did notice the coke jaw during some of his jokes.

(102,575 posts)that I just look at BUsh* as a pathetic fool who knows, deep down, that he was worthy of all the mockery. But, Cheney, incites a white hot anger that has not dimmed.
That's not to say, I'd not gladly send Bush* to the Hague as well--just that Cheney and many of Cheney's henchmen facing war crimes would be far more satisfying.

(32,160 posts)but have lost hope of that ever happening.
must have been a huge push to impeach him?

(32,160 posts)I wasn't talking about complicit leaders.
ManyShadesOf
(639 posts)DUers must have been demanding it?
TBF
(32,160 posts)so maybe you are thinking of another board you post at?
Folks on DU did not support Bush and his shenanigans. This is a message board for democrats.
Have you read the terms of service? http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=termsofservice
ManyShadesOf
(639 posts)not supporting Bush and his shenanigans and demanding impeachment are not all the same thing.
TBF
(32,160 posts)carry on, but your posts are not making much sense to me.
due to your assumptions?
being a Democrat
not supporting Bush and his shenanigans
and demanding impeachment
are not all the same thing.
TBF
(32,160 posts)but I'd be surprised if many democrats on DU supported Bush. In fact I'll call for a show of hands. Anyone want to come to Bush's defense here? Do speak up.
and no one said anything about democrats on DU supporting or defending Bush. The question was about impeachment. Thank you.
TBF
(32,160 posts)did you want us to impeach him right here on this website? So far not one person other than you has come to Bush's defense.
ManyShadesOf
(639 posts)your jabs are inaccurate and out of line
TBF
(32,160 posts)I responded to the OP and you started in with me. And many, many posts later you still haven't given me any clue as to why you are defending Bush.
But that's ok, I think we know where we both stand on this issue.
which you know very well. or else you seem very confused.
"started in with you"? Really. Not intended, sorry. maybe you misunderstood the question. nevermind. have a nice weekend.

(7,596 posts)The only thing we can really do is to keep telling the truth about the turd and not allow the slimeballs to change history like they did with Reagan.

(7,596 posts)I've resigned myself to the fact that nothing will be done and Bush will live the rest of his days a free man. The only thing we can really do now is to keep telling the truth about the asshole and not allow them to lie and change history like they did with Reagan.

(18,115 posts)I gave up on seeing bush held accountable long ago. Obama is looking forward and the DOJ has no interest in a serious investigation. Hell, the current administration has embraced a lot of what we were appalled at 4 years ago. I am able to simultaneously ridicule the wastoid war criminal and hope for justice.

(2,627 posts)has committed. And we the people go along with it, especially when "our guy" is one; we accept being lied to by our leaders as normal.
