Breastfeeding moms in uniform stir controversy

A picture taken of two moms breastfeeding in military uniforms has stirred up controversy.

Yahoo! reports the photo is part of a breastfeeding awareness campaign by Mom2Mom of Fairchild Air Force Base , a support group launched in January by Crystal Scott, a military spouse and mother of three.

While there are several pictures taken on the group's website of mom's breastfeeding, a picture of two moms with their Air Force uniforms on sticks out.

At a time when breastfeeding in public is already controversial, many have made comments saying it is a disgrace to the uniform and inappropriate to practice breastfeeding with it on.

I almost posted this is the lounge and then thought meta but it hasn't turned into a mess yet so into GD it goes.

Seriously people we've all seen at least one in our lives whether we have them or not. I saw my first boob when I was a sophomore in high school. Is it really that big a deal?

There can't be equality in this country until both men and women have the same state of dress or undress code.
It all skin folks, so what is the problem? 'cause it's shaped differently?

I'm guessing it's only gone downhill...

... the infuriating posters were the ones who believe women shouldn't be in the military and definitely not mothers (and to be fair, not fathers either. No parent should be a soldier in their (small) minds.... )

There was even one DUer who honestly believes the military should think twice before training women pilots because doncha know, you don't know if you're investment in their training would ever be paid off

for the heads up. I think dupes are still ok in GD but if not I'm sure the locking will come soon enough.

mincemeat of it once and that's really all we need. I do appreciate the heads up too, I was just talking out loud thinking about dupes in GD and what happens to them.
