Will anybody in the media put the blame for these job reports where it deserves to be: on the GOP?

These are terrible numbers. But to blame them on President Obama is asinine. At this point in 2011, we were in a similar spot. Job growth was slowing down. Obama put forward the American Jobs Act. It was designed to create upwards of a million jobs. What did the GOP do? They said "No, we don't need this. Now is the time for austerity. The free market will take care of the job market."

Fast-forward several months and no action taken later, things are beginning to slow down again. What is the GOP saying? "This is all Obama's fault! Why isn't he doing more?! It's not working! Sure, we block every attempt at progress in a cynical and downright treasonous attempt to keep the economy down so that we have a better chance in November, but nobody will hold us accountable on that in the media. So we'll just push these empty and meaningless talking points onto all of you."

This drives me mad. Anyone with a brain knows that President Obama's policies reversed the free-fall that the Bush administration sent us on. More action would've and should've been taken if not for the unprecedentedly obstructionist Republicans in Congress. Nothing can get done thanks to them. Now, who's going to get blamed? President Obama. But for what? He's actually done things to help this economy. He saved us from a Republican depression. He's actually put forward ideas and plans to get the country out of stagnation.

Republicans have put forward NOTHING besides more tax cuts for the rich. Mitt Romney wants to return the country to the Bush-era economic policies that failed us last decade. But will they be held accountable for the jobs report? Nope.

All the headlines are something along these lines: "UNEMPLOYMENT TICKS UP, OBAMA'S RE-ELECTION CHANCES IN PERIL!" The article proceeds to essentially pin Obama on the jobs report, with little or no mention of Republican obstructionism or lack of ideas. Even "progressive" websites like TPM and HuffPo (which is questionable when it comes to being liberal) are falling for the GOP talking points.

This is disgusting on so many levels. If this country is stupid enough to fall for the Republican spin and hype and we elect Romney in November, we deserve the shit this country will go through afterward.
