Dayum... DC area white-out storms

We've got storms right now that would be memorable even by Florida standards. 70 MPH downdraft winds coming straight down toward the ground... true white-out conditions (hey, where did the parking lot go?)... funnel clouds... hail... dogs and cats living together.

And Friday PM rush hour is a treat here under even the best conditions.

May, if I recall, was pretty below average for tornadic activity across the country. I do wonder if June will be different........

Here in D/FW, we're lucky. Severe weather season here ends in about 2-3 weeks and we're past our peak tornado season......though we'll have to start being careful come this next fall....we may have been far luckier than the Southeast in regards of autumn tornadoes though something's gonna have to give way sooner or later.
