Cantor:
... I think under the right leadership, we can do better.
Bashir:
BUT Mr Cantor is part of the Leadership of this country. He's the Majority Leader in the House. I'm certain the word 'Leader' is on his business card.
But Leader Cantor has done absolutely everything in his powers to be sure that not one of the President's policies on Job Creation, have ever seen the light of day.
Even when an independent analytics firm like Moody's estimates that the American Jobs Act would create about 2 Million new jobs, and raise GDP by a full 2 percentage points -- Mr Cantor prefers his own form of leadership, which is designed to crush Job Creation.
And Mr Cantor's approach has been shared by another 'Leader' in Job Crushing -- the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, a man who also made his monthly appearance today.

Bashir:
I can tell you the Speaker ................. is also too much of a coward to owe up to his all-important role in ensuring that the Economic Recovery of America is as fragile as it it today.
So well done Mr Cantor and Mr Boehner, Congratulations! You always wanted to undermine the President -- but what you've done, is undermine the country.

Kieth who?
But seriously Bashir doesn't seem to have an ego that gets in his way like Olbermann did

(2,091 posts)If I'm not home to watch his show, I make sure it is recorded. Wish he could take one of Tweety's spots. Bashiir takes no $**t from anyone so effortlessly. Today he was on fire, once again. Great show!!

(10,479 posts)He is absolutely a breath of fresh air. He can spot a phoney as soon as he sees one. He is not afraid to say what he thinks. Chuck Toad could use some of what Martin has and he puts Andrea Mitchell in a sand dune where she belongs.

(12,121 posts)Why did you vote against the Jobs Bill?
Why did you vote against infrastructure spending that would have created tens of thousands of jobs?
Why did you vote against veterans' benefits?
every time they show their faces on the TV.
Do you agree with Mitch McConnell that your most important duty is to defeat President Obama, even if it costs the country hundreds of thousands of jobs?

Beautiful. Martin is so elegantly succinct in his dismantling the hypocracy on the right. The British wit and accent doesn't hurt either.

(18,648 posts)Specifically because they undermined the country.
They count on the electorate being too stupid to see the truth and be swayed by pure emotion.
The Democrats use logic and morals to justify their positions.
The Republicans use fear and illogical emotions to justify theirs.
It remains to be seen if this strategy works but I have very little faith in the overall intelligence level of our electorate.
