(Judge) Roy Moore: Secular government will lead to Sharia law in the U.S.

Mobile (AL) press Register
Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice candidate Roy Moore told a talk show host last week that a government that denies God opens the door to Sharia law, according to the website rawstory.com.

Moore, in an interview with talk show host Steve Deace, said that a federal judge who ordered a Ten Commandments monument removed from the state judicial building a decade ago had “violated not only our Constitution but the case law of the United States Supreme Court which says our religious freedom comes from God..."

Moore went on to say on the show, "if it (religious freedom) doesn’t come from God people have to realize we will lose it and that is happening in our country today with Sharia law and the allowance of religious practices for other groups but not Christians.”

Well, us pore ol' folks in benighted Alabama are about to have a full-blown, certifiable nut case for chief justice of the state supreme court.

Unfortunately, the Dem running against him is about as nutty.
"Harry Lyon is the classic "perennial candidate," one with a colorful biography that includes run-ins with various neighbors and law-enforcement types and several public utterances that might cause one to suspect he's a bit daffy."

What did we do to deserve this?
No...wait...don't answer that.

if we don't have religion in government, we're going to wind up with a religious government?

Some of us find ourselves living in the bat-shit crazy that the is the south and leave. I feel for you, I really do, but you must know that it isn't going to change in your lifetime, if ever. So why stay?

Trust me, the list of places better than Alabama is much longer than the list of places worse.

Plus I was born and raised here.
I love the place, just not the current political climate.
There's more to life than politics.
