The recall election got off to a quick start Tuesday, with early reports of strong turnouts and few problems.
The first round of voter turnout numbers around Dane County are still pending, but early indications in Madison suggest the number of voters could rival those in a presidential election.
"Everything leading up to this election, it completely felt like a presidential (election)," said Madison City Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl, speaking of the workload, number of officials needed for the polls and the number of absentee ballots her office received prior to the election. "It's pretty busy at the polling."

(10,183 posts)at his polling place. These are new polling places for us in Appleton, WI, but he doesn't recall ever having to wait in a line longer than about 4 or 5 people until today. We panicked and voted last week so we haven't seen what's going on.

(21,078 posts)all that WI weather brings, I could only think what good stock, brave souls they were. Each and every one in WI heartily deserves this win tonight and I have no doubt they will get it. These are the kinds of people you really want for neighbors. No matter the obstacle, they are there. GO WISCONSIN!!!!
