(32,763 posts)Now it'll be the Clinton Repubs, or better yet the Bernie Repubs.

LibDemAlways
(15,139 posts)was in some sort of an anti-Trump group and asked her if she had any advice for Hillary. I guess Rachel assumed that if she was no fan of Trump, she might be persuaded to vote Clinton. The woman's response was basically, no, she had no intention of helping the enemy and after all she is a Republican. When push comes to shove, they are Republicans first and will hold their noses and vote R.

(56,829 posts)But, I bet he will get a lower percentage of Republican women than Bush, McCain or Romney. Even a few percent can make a difference in a swing state.

(23,206 posts)says she won't vote for Trump, no way. She also won't vote for Hillary or Bernie so is sitting this one out. I'm OK with that.
NewJeffCT
(56,829 posts)that it's still a long ways till the election. I've posted on here a lot, but I used to work with a guy who was a vocal Republican, and in the summer of 2004, he was answering his phone at work with "Vote for Kerry" and then would rant on about how terrible Bush was and so on and so forth. And, this is a guy who was on the phone a lot for work...
But, the day after election day, he confessed that he ended up voting for Bush because what he found out about Kerry made him too scared of Kerry. I'm sure it was something he heard off of Fox News, or Rush (he was a big reader of the Drudge Report, if I recall, as well)
lark
(23,206 posts)I really don't think she will vote for Trump though. She didn't vote for Rick Scott either time, so she's not the teapublican batshit crazy person that so many rwingers are.

(56,829 posts)had Trump leading Clinton 39-37. If she picks somebody like Julian Castro for VP, does that make TX a swing state for this election?

(1,178 posts)Latinos generally don't show up in large numbers. In the 2012 election, less than 50% of eligible Latinos voted. I'm not Latino so I can't speak for their motivations, but if Trump is not enough to persuade this community to vote......

(7,963 posts)Even Asians are taking notice and will quietly vote in response to the racism. Can thank Jeb for including Asians to the discrimination festivities. So you can bet your bottom dollar, latinos woke up and are paying attention. Illegal immigrants who have been here for decades are worried about losing their homes and their lives. When you start using words like "rounding up. .." people listen. Those are strong words that hit home. Unlike emails and cartels and coups in Honduras. No one gives a shit about that because it is over there. It is harder to see the personal threat in that. So while DU is in a tizzy over Hillary, a lot of nonwhite people are freaking out over trump. That is why they are showing up enmasse to get their citizenship to vote. That's not just waiting in line at the dmv to get their voter ID card. That is a commitment to DOING something.

(22,683 posts)Would never vote for a woman. Don't think he has ever voted for a woman -- traditional values perhaps. Just divorced his wife, whose side of the family, just so happens to be liberal. Hillary is out of the question. The previous Clinton WH made him too wealthy I suppose.
Would never vote for a socialist. Faux Entertainment says that's a bad word. Heaven forbid he think for himself. So Bernie's out. Although, if Faux told him to vote for either before the election, I'd put money on it that he would.
He's just programmably bat shit crazy. I don't think he's thinking rationally much anymore.

(1,089 posts)Who has come out in support of Drumpf is a close friend from our growing-up days. He's an alcoholic who won't get himself any help and he's a fake tough guy, just like Drumpf. I see Drumpf supporters through that prism, and it's not a pretty sight. Fake tough white guys just who are incredibly entitled and not even knowing why they are yelling about things.
